Heart-Shaped Cakes in Bracknell
A heart in any of our sizes: the cake at its usual price plus £10–£25 for the shape. From £100 for a 6-inch, or £70 for the 4" bento version, which is the one most couples actually want.
One number to plan around: a heart feeds about a quarter fewer than the round it is cut from, because the shape is made by taking cake away.
What does a heart-shaped cake cost, and who does it feed?
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
6" heart Plus £10–£25 for the shape — heart-shaped cake 6–9 portions | £100 |
8" heart Plus £10–£25 for the shape — heart-shaped cake 11–14 portions | £130 |
10" heart Plus £10–£25 for the shape — heart-shaped cake 17–21 portions | £150 |
4" bento heart The small one, for two people and a candle about 3 portions | £70 |
The portions above are the heart’s, not the round’s — the sizes guide has the full numbers for round cakes, and numbers and letters are the other two shapes priced this way.

Why does a heart serve fewer people?
Because of how it is made. A heart is cut from a round: the top two curves are the round itself, and the point is formed by trimming two sides away. What comes off is real cake, so an eight-inch heart holds less than an eight-inch round even though it measures the same across. The table below is the arithmetic, and the rule of thumb is a quarter less.
| Width | As a round | As a heart | From |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6" | 8–12 portions | 6–9 portions | £100 + £10–£25 |
| 8" | 14–18 portions | 11–14 portions | £130 + £10–£25 |
| 10" | 22–28 portions | 17–21 portions | £150 + £10–£25 |
So if the guest list needs an 8-inch round, the heart to order is the 10-inch. That is the single mistake this page exists to prevent.
Is a heart worth it, or is a round cake with a heart on top better?
It depends entirely on how the cake will be photographed. A heart-shaped cake reads as a heart from above and as an odd round from the side, which is how most cakes on a table are actually seen — so for a cake that will sit on a table at a party, a round cake with a piped or modelled heart on top often looks more like a heart than the heart does.
Where the shape wins is close up and small: a 4" bento heart on a plate between two people is unmistakable, and it costs less than the shaping fee on a large cake. That is why the small version outsells the big one here by some distance. The bento page has the small cakes, and the designs page prices the finishes that go on either.
When do people order heart cakes?
Anniversaries first, engagements second, and Valentine’s third — which surprises people, but Valentine’s is a single evening for two and an anniversary is often a table of family. A ruby or a golden anniversary with twenty people at it needs the 10-inch heart and its 17–21 portions; a proposal needs the smallest cake in the shop.
Valentine’s cakes has the date and the last-order day, engagements and anniversaries covers the rest, and the flavours are the same ten whatever shape the cake is.
