How far is Reading, really?
We have measured the drive to 49 places around the kitchen. 41 of them are a shorter drive than Reading and seven are longer: 14 miles by road, 23 minutes, and 46 minutes of driving if you collect instead.
Of the 907 places in RG1, RG2, RG6 and RG7 that carry a food hygiene rating, 608 hold a 5 — 67 per cent of them. This kitchen holds the same rating, from Bracknell Forest Council. Counted from the Food Standards Agency register on 2026-10-26, where every one of them can be looked up.
Reading covers RG1, RG2, RG6 and RG7. If your postcode is one of those, the distance above is what your delivery is quoted from; if it is not and you are nearby anyway, ask and we will measure it.
The nearest place we get to quicker is Wraysbury, at 22 minutes; the next one out is Hook, at 24 minutes. The charge follows the distance, so a few minutes nearer is a few pounds cheaper to deliver to.
What can we deliver to Reading?
All four of the things we make, to any address in Reading: a celebration cake from £100, a two-tier wedding cake from £270, a box of cupcakes from £36, or a bento cake from £70. The cake is the same cake wherever it goes — only the delivery charge changes with the 14 miles by road and 23 minutes between us.
What else do people in Reading ask?
Our kitchen handles all 14 of the allergens UK law requires us to declare, and our Food Hygiene Rating is 5 — what that means for your order.
