Single Tier Wedding Cakes in Bracknell
One tier, dressed as a wedding cake. A 10-inch feeds 22–28 from £150 — against £270 for the two-tier combination, which feeds 22–30.
That is £120 for almost the same number of guests, and 7–10 days rather than 14–20. What the difference buys is set out below, honestly.

What does a single tier cost?
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
6" single tier A cutting cake, with something else feeding the room 8–12 portions | £100 |
8" single tier For a registry office and a table of family afterwards 14–18 portions | £130 |
10" single tier The usual choice for a small wedding — the largest single tier made here 22–28 portions | £150 |
Every price is a floor: the finish is agreed in conversation and charged on top, which on a wedding cake is most of the decision. The designs page prices the finishes, and the wedding page covers the rest of the order.

One tier or two, for the same number of guests?
This is the only comparison on the page that matters, and the table below puts it plainly. For a wedding of around two dozen people the two options feed almost identically and the prices are not close — so the question is not which cake is bigger, it is whether height and a second flavour are worth the difference to you.
| Cake | Portions | From | Lead time |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10" single tierOne sponge, one filling | 22–28 | £150 | 7–10 days |
| 6" + 8" two tiersTwo flavours, and the height | 22–30 | £270 | 14–20 days |
The two-tier page makes the opposite case, and three tiers is the next step up for a larger wedding.
How do you make one tier look like a wedding cake?
Height first. A single tier built tall and set on a raised stand stops reading as a birthday cake entirely, because what the eye registers at a wedding is the silhouette against the room rather than the number of layers. A taller cake is priced in conversation here, since the extra height is genuinely extra cake and a different structure inside, but it is the cheapest change to the impression a one-tier cake makes.
Then the finish, which is where a single tier earns its keep: the whole decorating budget lands on one surface instead of three. Piped Lambeth work is £25–£50 depending on size and complexity, and it is the finish that most obviously says wedding; fresh flowers, a sharp buttercream edge or a ribbon do it more quietly. The vintage page covers the piped style and the flower page the difference between fresh and sugar.
When is one tier the wrong answer?
When there are more than 28 people, because that is the ceiling on a single tier here and stretching a cake past its portions is how a wedding runs out of cake. When two flavours matter — one sponge is one flavour, and a tiered cake is the only way to give a room a choice. And when the cake has to carry the photographs, where the extra tier is doing a job that no finish on a single tier quite replaces.
There is a middle road worth knowing about. A single tier as the cake you cut, with 12 cupcakes at £72 feeding the rest of the room, costs less than two tiers and feeds more people than either — and it solves the flavour problem, because the cupcakes can be something else entirely. The wedding cupcakes page has the quantities, and the alternatives page covers the rest of the options, including the ones we will not make.
