Two-Tier Cakes in Bracknell
A two-tier cake — 6 and 8 inches stacked — is £270 and cuts 22–30 slices. Made to order in Bracknell, delivered across Berkshire and stacked where it is going.
The thing to know before you order one: a single 10-inch cake is £150 and cuts 22–28. Tiers buy height, not slices, and that is a perfectly good reason to want them — as long as it is the reason you are paying for.

What do you actually get for the extra money?
Height, two flavours and a cake that reads as an occasion from across the room. Not more cake: the table below puts the two-tier against the single tiers at the same portion count, in this kitchen’s own prices. A 10-inch cuts within a slice or two of the two-tier and costs a little over half as much, which makes the honest summary easy — order tiers when the cake has a job beyond being eaten.
| Cake | Price | Slices | Per slice |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6" + 8" two tier | £270 | 22–30 | £9.00 |
| 6" single tier | £100 | 8–12 | £8.33 |
| 8" single tier | £130 | 14–18 | £7.22 |
| 10" single tier | £150 | 22–28 | £5.36 |
Per-slice figures use the larger portion count, which is the party slice rather than the dessert slice.
Why does a tiered cake take longer to make?
Because it is two cakes that have to agree with each other. Each tier is baked, filled, chilled and finished separately, and the finish has to match across both or the join announces itself. Then the bottom tier is dowelled to carry the weight of the top one, which cannot be done until the top one is finished and weighs what it will weigh. That is why tiers want 14–20 days against 7–10 for a single cake, and why a rush on a tiered cake is rarely possible at any price.
Which two sizes should the tiers be?
6 and 8 inches is the combination this kitchen makes as standard, and it is standard for a reason: two inches of difference is enough for the step to read as deliberate from a distance. Closer than that and it looks like a mistake; further apart and the top tier starts to look like an ornament on a plate. If you need more cake than 30 slices, the answer is usually a 10-inch single tier at £150 beside the tiers rather than a third tier — a cutting cake in the kitchen, as weddings have done for a century.
