Thank You Cakes in Bracknell
A thank-you cake is a cake with the right sentence on it, and the sentence costs nothing: writing is included in the price of every cake here. A 4" bento is £70 and feeds 4; 12 cupcakes are £70, which is £5.83 a cake; a 6-inch from £100 cuts 8–12. Made to order in Bracknell.
Most of these are eaten standing up in a staff room, a ward or a classroom. That one fact decides the format more than any design does.

Why is the writing the expensive-looking part and the free one?
Because on a thank-you cake the message is the present and the cake is the wrapping. Writing is included here at any length, which means the part a recipient actually reads and remembers adds nothing to the bill — and that is worth knowing, because it removes the only reason people have for writing something short and generic. “Thank you” is on every cake of this kind. A ward name, a class, a date, the thing they actually did: those are the ones that get photographed and kept.
Four thank-yous and what each one usually is
A teacher, from one family — 4" bento, £70, carried home easily.
A staff room or a ward — 12 cupcakes, £70, no knife and no plates.
A colleague leaving — 6-inch cake from £100, because there will be a moment.
From a company — cupcakes with a printed logo at £1 each; see corporate cakes.
Why do cupcakes beat a cake in a staff room?
Because of the knife. A cake arriving in a room where people come and go in five-minute gaps needs somebody to cut it, something to cut it on, plates, forks and a first person willing to spoil the icing — and the usual result is a cake admired at eleven and still whole at three. 12 cupcakes at £70 need none of that: one is picked up, the box closes again, and the last person at five o’clock gets one that still looks like the first. An 8-inch cake at £130 cuts 14–18 slices and is the better buy only where somebody has planned a moment for it — a leaving speech, a last day, a photograph.
What else is ordered for the same reason?
A fresh start of one kind or another, and the cakes are nearly identical: one small cake, one line, ordered on 3–5 days’ notice by somebody who thought of it late. A new home, a retirement or a graduation on the leaving page, or the plain version on celebration cakes. If the words are the hard part, what to write on a cake is the page to read first.
