Car & Motorbike Cakes in Bracknell
A car is the hardest thing to carve in a cake, and this page says so before quoting for one. Round cakes with a car theme start at £100 for a 6-inch; a carved vehicle is quoted per design.
The version that works most often is not the carved one: a clean cake, his actual colour, and his actual number plate.

A carved vehicle The most expensive and most fragile thing made here — read the page first Feeds fewer than the cake it came from | Quoted per design |
Carving is quoted with the design because it is hours rather than ingredients. Novelty cakes sets out the choice between carving and modelling, and the designs page prices the finishes.

What goes wrong with a carved car?
Three things, in order of frequency. The proportions: a car is longer and lower than people expect, and a carved cake tends to come out tall and stubby because that is the shape of the cake it started as. The wheels: a circle seen at an angle is an ellipse, and wheels that are modelled flat look wrong from every direction but one. And the surface: compound curves covered in fondant pleat at the tight radii unless the covering is cut and joined, which then has to be hidden.
None of this is impossible — it is simply hours, and hours are what the quote is. The reason this page leads with it is that most people asking for a car cake have in mind a photograph from a professional sugar artist’s portfolio and a budget for a birthday cake, and those are two different objects.
Why does a number plate beat a model?
Because it is unarguably his. A carved car is a generic version of a model he owns; a number plate is the exact registration on the exact car on his drive, and the reaction in the room is different. It is also a flat rectangle of fondant with lettering on it, which is among the cheapest things to make properly.
The same logic runs through every hobby cake here: one accurate detail beats five approximate ones. Match the paint colour as well and you have a cake about a person rather than about a category.
What about motorbikes?
Harder again, because a motorbike is mostly air. A car is a solid body you can carve; a bike is a frame, two wheels, a tank and handlebars with gaps between all of them, so it has to be built as separate dried pieces and assembled — which is modelling rather than carving, and it is fragile in a car boot. A helmet, a tank badge or a leather jacket modelled on a round cake is the robust version.
Gaming cakes cover racing games, birthday cakes for men the colours, character cakes the children’s version, and the transport guide explains why a carved cake is the one to collect rather than have delivered.
