Cupcake Bouquets in Bracknell
A cupcake bouquet is 12 cupcakes from £70 — £5.83 a cake — set into a dome and piped so each swirl reads as a flower, with the holder quoted at cost. A smaller posy of 6 is from £45. Made to order in Bracknell.
It is a collection order by nature. The cupcakes are not fixed to anything but the foam they stand in, so a bouquet travels far worse than a cake in a box — the honest version of this product is one you pick up.

Which piped flowers actually look like flowers?
Three of them, and the rest are an idea that does not survive contact with buttercream. A rose piped from the centre outwards with a closed star nozzle is unmistakable. A hydrangea — forty or fifty tiny stars crowded over the whole top — is the most convincing of the three and the slowest. A chrysanthemum, piped as short strokes from the outside in with a petal tip, is the one that holds its shape longest in a warm room. Daisies, tulips and anything with a long single petal need royal icing and a drying day, and are not piped onto buttercream here.
A dome of twelve, by flower
Twelve roses — one colour, or three shades of it: the classic.
Nine hydrangeas and three roses — the fullest-looking dome.
Twelve in two colours alternating — reads as a bouquet from across a room, which is the point of the thing.
Why does a bouquet need twelve rather than six?
Because a dome needs a second row. Six cupcakes fill a single ring and sit flat, which looks like a plate of cakes arranged in a circle — accurate, but not a bouquet. Twelve gives you a ring of eight or nine around a raised middle of three or four, and that height is the whole illusion: the eye reads overlapping flowers at two levels as a bunch. Twenty-four at £140 makes a bouquet nobody can carry with one hand, which is usually a mistake.
What else works as a gift that travels?
If the thing has to go in a car for half an hour, three products do it better than a bouquet, and all of them are boxed. A bento cake is one small cake with a message on it, wedged in its own box. A gift box holds its contents in compartments. Cake by post is designed from the start to survive a courier. A bouquet is the one to choose when you are handing it over yourself — and for Mothering Sunday or a birthday at home, that is exactly what happens.
