Christening, Baptism & Communion Cakes in Bracknell
From £100 for 8–12 slices, in the plain finish these cakes usually want — which is the finish the price already includes. Name and date piped on; a modelled cross or a pair of shoes quoted with the design.
The useful thing to know before you book is the day of the week. Sunday collection is 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM, so a morning service and an afternoon lunch both work. Monday the kitchen is closed — so a Monday ceremony collects on Saturday, and that is inside the two days a cake keeps.

Angel Wings CakeA tender pink cake adorned with large, airy wings made of wafer paper. Elegant and dreamy, it brings a sense of lightness and celebration - perfect for marking baby's special day.

Which day can the cake actually be in your hands?
This matters more at a christening than at any other occasion, because the service is almost always a Sunday and most bakeries are shut. Sunday collection runs 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM, which covers a morning service and a lunch after it. Monday is the day to watch: the kitchen is closed, so a Monday ceremony collects on the Saturday and the cake keeps two days in a fridge — Saturday to Monday is inside that.
| Day | Collection | What it means for a ceremony |
|---|---|---|
| Sunday | 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM | Collect the same morning, before or after the service |
| Saturday | 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM | The answer for a Monday ceremony, with two days of keeping |
| Monday | Closed | Nothing is collected or delivered; order for the Saturday |
| Tuesday to Friday | 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM | Normal collection, and when a weekday delivery runs |
Why is the plainest cake the usual choice here?
Because a christening cake is cut at a table of relatives rather than photographed from across a room, and the things that make a cake photograph well — height, modelling, colour — are the things that make it cost more and taste of fondant. The finish included in the price is a smooth ganache or buttercream with piping, and on this occasion that is not the budget option but the right one. What people do spend on is the writing and the size, in that order.
What about the children at the table?
Two things worth a sentence. The first: honey is not for the under-ones — the NHS advises against it before twelve months, and a christening table is the one most likely to have a baby at it, so the honey cakes are the wrong pick even though they are what this kitchen is known for. The second: Our kitchen handles all major allergens (celery, gluten, crustaceans, eggs, fish, lupin, milk, molluscs, mustard, peanuts, sesame, soybeans, sulphur dioxide and sulphites, tree nuts). While we take every care, products may contain traces of allergens. Tell us about an allergy in the family when you order rather than on the day.
What else do people ask?
Allergies? Our kitchen handles all 14 of the allergens UK law requires us to declare, so nothing we bake is free from any of them. What is in each cake, and our hygiene rating.
