How much does a wedding cake cost?

A wedding cake's price is set by its size, whether it has one tier or two, the decoration, and delivery. Our cheapest cake starts at £100. Delivery starts at £30, and collection is free.

What does a wedding cake cost?

Our cheapest cake starts at £100, and the price rises as the cake gets bigger or gains a second tier. The table below shows our single tiers with the portions each one serves — slices as this kitchen cuts them, one range per size.

The price covers the cake itself: the sponge, the filling and a buttercream finish. Sugar flowers, hand-painting and intricate piping are quoted separately against your design.

What decides the price of a wedding cake?

Four things set the price. Work through them in this order when you budget.

  • Size. Count one slice per guest who will actually eat cake, and read the portions in the table as the slices this kitchen cuts. Some quotes count the inch-square finger slice instead, which gets far more out of the same cake — so a cheaper quote can be a smaller cake.
  • Tiers. A cake is either one tier or two. A two-tier cake needs more sponge and more work than a single tier serving the same number of guests.
  • Decoration. A clean buttercream finish costs less than sugar flowers, hand-painting or intricate piping.
  • Delivery. The cake can be delivered to the venue or collected free from our Bracknell studio.

The table below shows the two-tier pairing and the portions it serves.

Does delivery add to the cost of a wedding cake?

Delivery starts at £30, quoted by distance from our Bracknell studio, and collection is free. We will confirm the delivery charge when we send your price.

A stacked cake should never travel assembled, so we deliver the tiers and build the cake at the venue on the day. Allow for that when you think about the venue.

How far ahead do you need to book and pay?

The baking needs 7–10 days, or at least 14 for two tiers notice, but wedding dates book out far earlier, with summer Saturdays going first. The table below sets out our usual notice for each kind of order.

A 50% deposit holds the date. The balance is due 7 days before the wedding. Our terms set out the full payment rules.
